PHOTOGRAPHY

I love taking photos. I am fascinated with the concept of capturing a moment in time forever, whether it is being committed to film or posted online for everyone to enjoy.

In high school, I did my first real film photography including developing film, darkroom processing and making prints. I got back into taking pictures when I found a Fujica ST-801 35mm SLR camera at a thrift store and fell in love with it. I got my first digital camera in 2003, and a digital SLR in 2007. Since then I’ve built up a modest collection of around 60 cameras, dating back to the 1920s.

I’ve shot portraits, weddings, concerts and landscapes but I really like abstract and experimental photography, playing with textures and light. I also enjoy the power and creativity of post-processing on the computer and dialing in the exact mood I’m trying to convey.

They say ‘the best camera is the one you have with you’, so I usually take photos with my phone since that is in my pocket at all times. My biggest regret with photography is that I wish I had more time to spend doing it, but life can be very busy!
